Tran Le

Dr. Tran Le, MD, FRCSC

Dr. Tran Le is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and practices comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology in the Greater Toronto Area, including glaucoma and retinal diseases.  Dr. Le has special interests in anterior segment surgery including advanced cataract and pterygium excision surgeries.  She is a Lecturer at the University of Toronto and teaches medical students and residents in the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences.  Dr. Le is on staff at Humber River Regional and St. Michaels’ Hospitals.

Dr. Le first received her Honours Bachelor’s of Science degree with distinction from the University of Toronto in 2005.  She then obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Toronto in 2009 where she received the Wilkinson scholarship awarded to the leading medical student in the graduating class destined for a career in Ophthalmology as well as the James Paul Marois Memorial Award for active community involvement.

In 2013, she completed her Ophthalmology specialty training in the Department of Ophthalmology and Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto.  Dr. Le has published original research in leading peer-reviewed ophthalmic journals and presented in major national and international medical society meetings.  She was awarded a research prize by the American Academy of Ophthalmology for her work in the radiological classification of orbital cellulitis.  Dr. Le is an active peer reviewer for a number of medical journals and actively participates in continuing medical education.

Dr. Le truly values the physician-patient relationship and recognizes the enormous trust her patients put in her to take care of their eyes.  She strives for excellence in the care of every patient.
